Top Fun Spots of St. Augustine, Florida

St. Augustine, Florida is a well preserved city.   Along the Matanza River which is the main entrance into St. Aug., my friend and I saw extensive marsh areas where habitat can live.  As one who enjoys nature, I found this body of water a must see.  What makes it so interestingly dark is that its name actually means killings!  Since St Aug. is the oldest surviving european city, many battles took place where many people were slaughtered.  Chaos was nothing new to this area in its over 450 year history.

My camera was so happy coming across this eagle high up in the massive trees that surround the area I live in.  Go to my Instagram named Alesiablogs to see more photos soon of this bird and others.   I consider this a blessed viewing as typically these guys are mostly down by Lake Washington.  I live five minutes from where they nest,  but it was great seeing him hanging around my home.  I love living in the Seattle area!! What a joy to view nature at its best.

Birding is a strange activity.  There are some who consider it a highly competitive sport.  For example,  who will see the most species in one place for a year.  Some ornithologists think this is a negative way to look at birding.  To them , birding is a way to get out in nature and find critters they love.

Hank Williams

Mr. Hank Williams was born in Alabama and buried in Montgomery. My son never heard of him until I took him to his grave site. I guess we take for granted that everyone knows Hank Williams!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy some photos with my Nikon. If you are looking for a lovely vacation getaway, Victoria, BC may be just the right town for you. Many of us who do live in the Pacific NW enjoy visiting this city by land, boat, or air. This trip was by boat. I think I have captured a great feel for the city in these shots.
