Hank Williams

Mr. Hank Williams was born in Alabama and buried in Montgomery. My son never heard of him until I took him to his grave site. I guess we take for granted that everyone knows Hank Williams!

How do you live in this World?

“..When you commune with Me in the garden of your heart, both you and I are blessed. This is My way of living in the world-through you!” The old testament is clear of Nature’s purpose in uplifting the heart and how the God of the universe can sustain us from nature’s point of view. Photos taken from my walks along the trails in Seattle.

Victoria, Canada on Display

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy some photos with my Nikon. If you are looking for a lovely vacation getaway, Victoria, BC may be just the right town for you. Many of us who do live in the Pacific NW enjoy visiting this city by land, boat, or air. This trip was by boat. I think I have captured a great feel for the city in these shots.

The Case of the Missing Wallet

No vacation is complete without some kind of mystery. Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys fans fasten your seatbelt. We are about to go for a ride. The following event took place in Victoria, British Columbia (Canada) while on holiday with my friends. Events as they occurred are real. Names have not been changed to protect the innocent or the guilty……
It was approximately 1pm and we checked into our beautiful hotel room at The Empress overlooking the harbor. Shortly thereafter strange events happened that led up to the next morning with my friend’s husband discovering his wallet missing! Aghast!!!!
We have three suspects. Please chime in anytime when you think you might know who done it? Our first thought on the morning of the discovery of the missing wallet was it had been left on the window sill of our third floor hotel room and taken by suspect one who is named Fred.

Fred made regular stops to our hotel from faraway distances to eat bread.

Suspect Two was an employee who entered our room to open our window to circulate the air better. I was not in the room nor my girlfriend. Her husband, though, was in the bathroom and never heard him come in. He describes the employee’s entrance like this because he never heard him: “He came in like a Ninja.” Photo two shows the wallet on the bed when suspect two entered. I know this because I took this photo right before he came in:
Look close on the bed. The wallet is on top of the IPad type device!

Suspect three is the most innocent in my opinion. It is my dear friend’s husband. Just so you know–the wallet was thought to be on the window sill and he felt he might have accidentally pushed it out. I never thought that could happen as evidenced by the above photo I took.
After our discovery, security was called and an immediate investigation began. The good news was that the wallet was found outside the window on the grounds of the hotel with its contents scattered. It is my belief that the wallet was either A: Pushed out of the window by the hotel employee while opening our window or B: He was looking in it and then heard my friend’s husband in the bathroom and panicked throwing it out the window. Shortly after we arrived back to the hotel and saw the window was opened another guy (suspect 2 I believe coming back to the scene of the “crime”) was there to see if our window had been opened. We told him it had been done allready. He looked really strange and actually scared to me, but because we did not pick up on the wallet missing until the next morning, we did not get alarmed.
All in all–this could have been disastrous, but it was not.
Poor Fred..Did you take the wallet?

Hummingbird Paradise

Part II of my weekend brought me to my friend’s home for a wonderful visit and an enjoyable view of his own little paradise of birds. In particular, you are looking at photos of the Anna and Rufous Hummingbirds. These shots I took were NOT easy. A research study found that the Anna’s hummingbird can shake their bodies 55 times per second while in flight. Can you imagine I was able to even get a picture at all? In fact the Rufous hummingbird is known for their incredible flight skills!!! I would say so, but I was blessed to get a few shots to turn out. Enjoy. These were taken in a town called Silverdale, WA with the backdrop of Olympic Mountains and an inlet that has waters coming from the Puget Sound.

Butterfly Kisses

What an amazing adventure in the world of Butterflies. I believe I was touched by Heaven on this day. Enjoy a few photos from my experience in one of the nation’s largest tropical butterfly exhibit. The poetry of life is exhibited in the changing life cycles of the butterfly::

Fair Weather

At times you struggle in life and so does nature. For you see the mood in the air each day. As nature speaks out, “What shall I do today?” The photographer goes behind to see the result. On a recent walk through a familiar area that I live near, my camera captures the season upon us as a neighbor gladly rakes the most beautiful leaves to mulch in his garden not so far away. He states to me, “This is a photographer’s paradise. No more beautiful street than ours is there?” I say back, “No. No other. As I snap a few more photos. Enjoy:

Photography is a great hobby and one I admire immensely in those who have a good eye. Today’s post is from my 16-year-old son’s camera who just so happens to be taking Photography in high school. I try to give him a critique or two about his photos. However I thought better yet give my followers a chance to give my son some good advice. Please feel free to comment as my son Elijah will read what you have to say:
